Pros On Hand ("we", "us", "our") operates Pros On Hand, serving Anytown and the surrounding area. This page explains what information we collect through our website, why we collect it, and how we handle it.
What we collect
When you submit a service request, we collect the information you provide: your name, phone number, email address, service address, a description of the problem, your preferred time windows, and whether you've flagged the request as an emergency. We use this only to respond to your request and, if you become a customer, to schedule and deliver our services.
If you use our chat widget, we collect the messages you send so a technician can follow up on the details you share. Chat sessions are capped and rate-limited to prevent abuse, and the widget never asks for or stores payment information.
If you contact us by email, we store the message and any reply so we can keep track of the conversation and provide continuity of service.
If you are (or become) a customer, we keep a client record with your contact details, service address, notes, and any equipment we've serviced, along with your history of jobs with us. This lets us recognise you when you get in touch, avoid asking for the same details twice, and give you faster, better-informed service. These records are stored on our own systems, are never shared with or sold to third parties, and are never combined with any other business's customer data. You can ask us for a copy of your record, or ask us to correct or delete it, at any time.
How we use it
Service requests, chat transcripts, and email messages are used solely to respond to your inquiry and, if you become a customer, to schedule, quote, invoice, and deliver our services. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone, for any reason.
Cookies and sessions
If you create an account with us to manage service history, we set a session cookie so you stay logged in. The chat widget uses a lightweight session identifier stored in your browser to keep track of your conversation and enforce a per-session message limit. Neither is used for advertising or sold to third parties.
Data retention and your rights
We keep service requests, messages, quotes, and invoices only as long as needed to provide our services or as required by law (including tax and warranty recordkeeping). You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you at any time by contacting us using the details below.
Email communications and CASL compliance
We only send email communications to people who have contacted us, requested service, or otherwise consented to be contacted, in compliance with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Every email we send identifies our business and provides a way to unsubscribe or ask us to stop contacting you, see the footer of this site for the details.
